India is the country of disparity where various countries culture and religions rich in. India has it’s own rich history of Architecture and Normanin various periods. Because of unrivaled art of architecture, geographical variation, historical antiquity India becomes center of attraction for the tourist’s world wide.

Travelite India presents the Golden Triangle Tour for you which cover three amazing cities of India. These three cities are Delhi,Agra and Jaipur. Each of these cities has their different historical stories and places to visit.

Delhi

Delhi is the largest metropolis by area and the second-largest by population in India, next to Mumbai. It is the eighth largest metropolis in the world by population with 16,753,265 inhabitants in the Territory at the 2011 Census.

History of Delhi:

The Indian capital city of Delhi has a long history, including a history as the capital of several empires.Delhi is generally considered a close to 5000-year old city, as per Ancient Indian text The Mahabharata, since the first ever mention of the city is found in this religious scripture.

The earliest architectural relics date back to the Maurya Period (c. 300 BC); since then, the site has seen continuous settlement. In 1966, an inscription of the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka (273-236 BC) was discovered near Srinivaspuri, which is near Noida. Two sandstone pillars inscribed with the edicts of Ashoka were brought to the city by Firuz Shah Tughluq in the 14th century. The famous Iron pillar near the Qutub Minar was commissioned by the emperor Kumara Gupta I of the Gupta dynasty (320-540) and transplanted to Delhi during the 10th century. Eight major cities have been situated in the Delhi area. The first five cities were in the southern part of present-day Delhi.

Agra

Also known as Akbarabad is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Indiaand 200 kilometers (124 mi) south from national capital New Delhi.

History of Agra:

The city finds mention in the epic Mahābhārata where it was called Agrevaṇa, or ‘the border of the forest’. Legend ascribes the founding of the city to Rājā Badal Singh a Sikarwar Rajput king (around 1475), whose fort, Badalgarh, stood on or near the site of the present Fort. Sultan Sikandar Lodī was the first to move his capital from Delhi to Agra in the year 1506 after that It achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526 to 1658 and remains a major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Jaipur

also popularly known as thePinkCity, is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Founded on 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, the city today has a population of more than 3.9 million.

Jaipur is one of the finest planned cities ofIndia, located in the semi-desert lands of Rajasthan. The city which once had been the capital of the royalty now is the capital city ofRajasthan.

History of Jaipur:

Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan state in India was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, a Kachwaha Rajput, who ruled from 1699-1744. Initially his capital was Amber (city), which lies at a distance of 11 km from Jaipur. He felt the need of shifting his capital city with the increase in population and growing scarcity of water. Jaipur is the first planned city ofIndiaand the King took great interest while designing this city of victory. He consulted several books on architecture and architects before making the lay out of Jaipur.
